Kanye West concert in Chicago will not require vaccines, negative tests

No vaccine, no problem, at least for Kanye West fans.

The rapper’s Chicago listening party is scheduled to take place on August 26 at Soldier Field, however, its location will not require music lovers to get vaccinated or test negative for COVID-19.

The party for 44-year-old’s upcoming album, “Donda,” will admit up to 38,000 fans – up from 63,000 people.

Chicago Park District spokeswoman Michele Lemons said in a statement that the reduced capacity shows how seriously the city is taking the pandemic.

“Kanye West’s performance is one of many examples that show Chicago can be open and safe at the same time,” Lemons said, according to the Chicago Tribune. “We have been working with Soldier Field on COVID-19 security protocols as we have other locations including Wrigley and Guaranteed Rate Fields and believe this event can be held safely with the appropriate mitigation efforts by square.”
