“I’m over $ 5 billion and looking for a new, trusted Christian CFO,” the 43-year-old rapper wrote Saturday night, who has garnered more than 116,000 likes and 11,000 retweets and comments.

It’s unclear if this role is for the rapper’s presidential campaign or any of his musical or fashion pursuits. Representatives for West did not immediately respond to FOX Business’s request for comment.
However, West’s response thread was filled with hundreds, if not thousands, of applicants who would like to take over the coveted position.

While some fans have volunteered to pay tribute, including Conservative gun rights activist Kyle Kashuv, 19, others have recommended accomplished or recognizable figures including Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy and the President of Liberty University, Jerry Falwell.
Most commentators responded to West bragging about his Christian credentials rather than his financial knowledge.
Typically, a CFO is expected to manage a company’s finances, which might include monitoring cash flow, analyzing strengths and weaknesses, and developing financial plans, among other responsibilities.

In addition to fan responses, some Twitter users criticized West for his wealth and urged him to share some of his money with those less fortunate.
Others criticized the rapper for his unorthodox method of recruiting and pointed out that his desire for a Christian CFO could run counter to anti-discrimination laws.
“Questions about a candidate’s religious affiliation or beliefs (unless religion is a bona fide professional qualification (BFOQ)) are generally considered unrelated to employment and problematic under federal law.” , says a US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission web page. .

“Religious corporations, associations, educational institutions or corporations are exempt from the federal laws that the EEOC applies regarding the employment of individuals based on their particular religion,” the government agency continued the statement. “In other words, an employer whose purpose and character is predominantly religious is allowed to turn to hiring people of the same religion.”
In recent years, West has rebranded himself as a Christian artist. He even toured the country and conducted Sunday services shortly after releasing his latest album, “Jesus Is King”.
