Kanye West presents his new album Donda tonight at an event broadcast live from her hometown of Atlanta. The scheduled start time is 8 p.m. EST, and the album’s official release is scheduled for tomorrow. Watch the event, which takes place at Mercedes Benz Stadium, on Apple Music.
Kanye kicked the Donda The campaign kicked off earlier this week when it announced the listening event alongside an Apple commercial featuring the new track “No Child Left Behind,” which debuted in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.
Kanye had originally planned Donda (or Donda: with child) for release in July 2020, shortly after the release of “Wash Us in the Blood” with Travis Scott. This ad apparently buried another Kanye album, billed as the land of god. In the end, neither of them came out. Instead, Kanye dropped “Nah Nah Nah” and “Nah Nah Nah (Remix)” and then launched his failed presidential campaign.
On the music front, Kanye enjoyed a relatively quiet 2021 after announcing in February that his wife of seven years, Kim Kardashian, had filed for divorce. Jesus is king won the 2021 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album this month. He has since been featured on “Tell the Vision,” a posthumous collaboration with the late Pop Smoke of Faith, and produced Chicago duo Abstract Mindstate’s upcoming album.
