Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has been one of the strongest supporters of the COVID-19 vaccine. Recently, the legendary big man took it out on Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets star’s refusal to get the shot. This time around, Kareem has set his sights on Washington Wizards Bradley Beal and Andrew Wiggins of the Golden State Warriors.
Aside from Kyrie, Beal is another NBA superstar who has raised concerns about the vaccine. Kareem cited Beal for saying the vaccine “doesn’t stop anyone from getting COVID.” The Hall of Famer used this as the starting point for their all-out tirade:
“The next time you have a serious infection, don’t take the antibiotics prescribed by the doctor because they don’t work 100% of the time,” Kareem wrote. “And when you’re playing basketball, don’t shoot the ball unless you score 100 percent of the time. Moreover, this question has been answered a thousand times by experts. “
Kareem Adbul-Jabbar did not mince words. He also had the same feelings for Wiggins, who himself said earlier that he wanted to “keep fighting for what I believe … what’s right for one person isn’t right for the other.” Kareem couldn’t disagree anymore:
“Trying to make it a matter of principle would be good, if there was a rational principle involved,” he wrote. “It’s not being forced to get the vaccine, since no one is forcing you. If you are so rightly attached to the principle, then do not play professional basketball. Stand firm on this principle. Unless money trumps principle… The problem with this vague philosophy is that the rest of us pay for these sloppy thinkers because they are the ones who clog our hospitals, crush our economy and keep us away from it. our family.
Needless to say, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is not happy with all of the anti-vax sentiments that are going around in the NBA. He’s not afraid to speak his mind either, and he’s even gone so far as to have to distinguish specific players who are against the vaccine. Kareem is certainly going to get a lot of support for this from anti-vaxxer / pro-choice individuals, but it looks like he doesn’t care.
