Katana zero was one of the indie hits of 2019 and since then game developer Askiisoft has been working on the free DLC.

This past February it was revealed that the content will be three times larger than originally planned, and now, in a new update on the company’s website, it has been revealed to be “6x “the size initially planned. Here’s what you can expect from this content:

“It’s a little over half the size of the main game. It means more levels, mechanics, enemies, bosses, and interwoven story elements. It looks less like a DLC than it is. Katana 1.5. “

Despite the scale, it will always be “on the house” (in other words, free). Although development has slowed down over the past year, it is now returning to normal.

As to when it will arrive, the creator – Justin stander – haven’t really thought about this yet, but one thing that has been confirmed is that habit be expanding more:

“The short answer is – I don’t know yet. There is a ton of content completed, but this is a big project and I aspire to the same level of quality and attention as the base game. to do it. all the programming and design myself – it’s my passion project after all. But don’t worry! The game is progressing at a healthy pace and the entire development team is working hard on the game. The DLC won’t be expanding anymore either – the plan is set and now we are focused on completing it.

When Katana Zero originally arrived on the Switch in April 2019, we praised its challenging action sequences, gripping storytelling, and impeccable sense of style. Learn more about it in our review.
