Kate Bosworth has announced her separation from her husband Michael Polish.
The actress, 38, took to Instagram to announce the breakup Thursday morning, sharing a tender photo of the couple kissing with a springing tribute to love in caption.
After several paragraphs of reflecting on the romance, Kate wrote, “Our hearts are full, for we have never been so in love and deeply grateful for each other as in this decision to go our separate ways.”
The couple married in 2013. Bosworth is the mother-in-law of a Polish daughter from a previous marriage.

Kate’s rather poetic post began with two quotes, which she attributed to “Big Sur, 2011”, the title of the movie they met.
“‘Would you like to split a burger? ” Yes.’
“How about a glass of whiskey?” ‘Damn it, yes.’
Kate continued, “The beginning is often the best part of love. Fireworks, magnets, rebellion – the attraction. The beginning signals a wide range of possibilities. Share a burger with someone when you fall in love and you can die happy knowing it’s your last meal.

Kate and Michael, 50, were last pictured together in January this year, ahead of their 38th birthday.
The couple met in 2011 while filming the adventure drama Big Sur, in which she starred and directed.
Bosworth and Polish announced their engagement in August 2012 and tied the knot on August 31, 2013 at the Ranch at Rock Creek in Philipsburg, Montana.
“I never even dated my future husband,” Bosworth told InStyle UK at the time.

But Polish found himself in hot water after allegedly assaulting a crew member last fall while filming the project in Montana, as Variety reports.
Artistic director Jack Renner filed a lawsuit in district court in Butte, MT, in March, accusing the director of attacking him.
The Pole reportedly became “enraged” at Renner, charging and knocking him down and banging his head. Renner suffered injuries serious enough to be sent to hospital.
Bosworth was reportedly present during the incident.
The Polish team turned the tables, accusing Renner of being the aggressor.
Offering a statement, his attorney David Jonelis of Lavely and Singer said: “” The absurd lawsuit brought by Jack Renner is simply his last, desperate attempt to take advantage of those who welcomed him with open arms in the production of Bring On The Dancing Horses “in the midst of a global pandemic – despite his propensity to engage in inappropriate and intoxicated conduct during production.
“Since his pre-trial efforts to secure an early settlement of Michael Polish failed miserably, he has now resorted to filing this baseless case, in which he claims he was somehow injured by his own attempted after-hours assault. Mr. Polish – an incident which had such a horrific impact on Mr. Renner that he finally left production the very next day. Mr. Polish is anxious to dispose of once and for all all frivolous claims by Mr. Renner in court.
