Kate Middleton and Prince William present a united front.

On Thursday morning, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge drove to an east London ambulance station, according to their Twitter account, to visit healthcare professionals and talk about the hardships of work during the pandemic of coronavirus.

William, 38, and Middleton, 39, spoke with a paramedic named Jay to discuss his struggles and were able to phone his family in the UK and Bangladesh to speak to the royal duo.

The two learned about the mental health and wellness support provided to station staff, which included a series of Wellbeing tea trucks.

The trucks are used to travel to hospitals and control centers in London to provide hot drinks and snacks to staff and volunteers with the aim of providing comfort and an opportunity to rest, said their tweets.

The visit to the ambulance station follows controversy for the royal family following the fallout from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Markle, 39, and Harry, 36, spoke with the media mogul about their struggles within the royal family, including allegations of racism, with Markle revealing that there were “concerns” about the complexion of their son Archie before he was born.

Harry had a conversation with a member of the institution regarding such “concerns”, although he refused to reveal who he was speaking to. It was later clarified that Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were not responsible for the conversation.

The allegations against the family included Markle’s claims that she was not entitled to receive mental health care while battling suicidal thoughts and that Middleton made her cry when she married Harry.

William has previously – and briefly – spoken about the interview, assuring reporters that his family is “really not a racist family.”

He has also had at least one conversation with Harry since the interview aired, according to Gayle King, but the discussion was “not productive.”

William’s public response was deemed “highly unusual” by royal expert Katie Nicholl for its improvised nature.

Markle named Middleton during the sit-down also appears to have struck a nerve within the Royal Family, as it has been reported that William felt “very protective” of his wife.
