Kate Middleton and Prince William mark Prince George’s birthday early with adorable new photo: ‘I’m eight’

Prince George is preparing to be eight years old.

The young royal will celebrate this milestone on Thursday and his parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William, marked the occasion in their traditional way: by sharing a brand new photo of their son.

In the photo, George is beaming while wearing a blue and orange striped collar shirt and blue shorts. He appeared to be sitting on the hood of a car for the shot.

“I’ll have eight (!) Tomorrow,” read photo caption alongside a pair of celebratory emojis.

The caption also revealed that, like most of the photos of the royal children that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have shared recently, the photo was taken by none other than Middleton herself.

Many fans of the royal family took advantage of the comments to wish the young prince the best of luck, as well as to remember his birth.

“I remember when he was born !!! My sister and I were so excited !!!” a follower wrote. “I can’t believe he’s already that old ?! Maybe he’ll have another little sister? We can only hope !!!”

” Man ! how time passes ! ” said another. “Happy Birthday in advance, Prince George Have fun!”

“Aw, he’s so tall and I love his huge smile for his mum”, wrote a third. “Happy Birthday my Prince George! I wish you all the best, a fun day surrounded by your loved ones and a wonderful year !! We all love you.”

It wasn’t that long ago that George learned he would fill the job one day.

According to royal biographer Robert Lacey, George learned “around” his seventh birthday that he would one day wear the crown.
