But in 2007, the relationship between Kate and William would have deteriorated.
At that time, a friend told the Daily Mail that Kate was anxious for the prince to offer him, but William thought "all the fun" had disappeared from their relationship.
The friend said, "For her, it was not a question of if, but of when.
"She openly admitted that she was waiting for an official announcement from Clarence House."
Another source told the publication that William "was just not ready to settle down" with Kate at the time.
And there was one thing that Kate would be forced to accept by being in a relationship with the coming king.

They said, "He has always had a wandering eye, far more than Harry, who is supposed to be the playboy of the family.

The split of Kate and William lasted only a few months and the couple seems to have quickly got back on track.
Kate and William announced their engagement in 2010 and their turbulent past is now behind them.
Princess Charlotte started her first day of school this week and the couple was radiant as they walked their children to meet their main teacher.
