Dr Addison Montgomery doesn’t let her ex-husband Derek Shepherd get away with it that easily.
On Thursday Kate Walsh, who previously played Derek’s wife and a neonatal surgeon on Grey’s Anatomy, shared a hilarious response to Meredith Gray (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) reuniting at the ABC drama season 17 premiere.
Fans were surprised last week when Meredith collapsed in the hospital parking lot, cutting to a dream sequence that saw her reunite with Derek (aka McDreamy), who died on the show in April 2015.
Walsh shared his reaction to “their internet breakup reunion” on Instagram, posting a shared photo of Addison giving an irritated look to a photo of Meredith and Derek kissing on the beach.
“Gal you already know how Addie would have reacted to that ? ❤️,” Walsh, 53, teased. “Sending so much love overseas to @EllenPompeo and @PatrickDempsey during their internet breakup meeting ?? #GreysAnatomy”

Pompeo, 51, couldn’t help but respond to Walsh’s clever message, leaving a series of crying, heart and number 100 emojis.
Walsh starred in the hit medical drama from 2005 to 2012 and received his own spinoff series, Private practice, in 2007. She continued to be a guest star on Grey’s Anatomy throughout her time on the spin-off, which lasted until 2013.

While Walsh and Dempsey both said goodbye to their respective roles on Grey’s Anatomy, the two actors have remained close over the years.
In February, Dempsey, 54, drove fans into a frenzy as he complimented his ex-wife’s Instagram post on TV.

Under a photo of Walsh smiling while promoting Boyfriend Perfume Car Fresheners, Dempsey wrote, “Looking radiant my lady,” as captured on Comments by Celebs.
“@Patrickdempsey kitty, I LAVA u,” Walsh replied.
In 2017, the two reunited for Cigna’s TV Doctors of America ad campaign, with Dempsey telling PEOPLE at the time that they “were always playful on set anyway.”
“Kate is fun and her comedic timing is amazing,” he says. “It was fun just to be playful and make each other laugh.”
