It is a high-flying family.
Katharine McPhee shared a sweet photo of her 6-month-old son Rennie playing with her husband David Foster in the cabin of a private jet.
“My boys,” the “Waitress” actress captioned the snap, which she posted to her Instagram story on Tuesday.
McPhee, 37, added a Canadian flag emoji – an apparent reference to the Canadian heritage of Foster, 71 – as well as a smiley face surrounded by hearts and a red heart emoji.
McPhee gave birth in February 2021 after sparking pregnancy rumors in October.
She revealed the newborn’s name shortly after, explaining in an interview for “Today with Hoda & Jenna” that it was a last name.
“We had a few names, but my husband was on an SMS channel with his sisters and one of his sisters suggested an old last name,” she explained.
“My husband said, ‘Hi, Ren Foster’ and so we said, ‘That’s a good name. It’s a strong name.
She confessed that Foster was angry about spilling the wick the next day, joking in a SiriusXM interview, “My husband was a little bored. I said, ‘What was I supposed to say [when asked]? ‘ Nothing?”
She added that she revealed her name because “we don’t want to be, like, so pretentious about the name,” but she understands where her husband was coming from because “it’s the only kind of thing that you can hang on and that seems private. “
The couple were first linked in 2017 and made their red carpet debut at the 2018 Met Gala.
Foster posed the question to the “American Idol” candidate in July 2018 while on a trip to Capri.
She said on Instagram at the time: “He did it on top of that mountain in Anacapri.”
“Totally dark only stars,” she added. “Fortunately, he didn’t push me off the top of the cliff. He said it was one or the other and in the end he spared me.
The couple married in June 2019.
McPhee was previously married to Nick Cokas, while Foster was married four more times to BJ Cook, Rebecca Dyer, Linda Thompson and Yolanda Hadid.
He also has five adult daughters from previous relationships: Amy, Erin, Sara, Jordan and Allison.
