Katherine Heigl said goodbye to Grey’s Anatomy over 10 years ago.

But the character of Emmy-winning actress, Dr. Izzie Stevens, is still loved in the hearts of fans of the show.

She recently opened up about the unexpected reunion between Izzie and Justin Chambers’ Dr Alex Karev, and she didn’t hold back her thoughts on how he was struck off the show.

The 42-year-old admitted to ET Online that she hadn’t watched the season 16 episode Leave a Light On, which aired last March on ABC: “ I haven’t seen it. ”

He sees Alex leave his wife Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) in Seattle, as he reunites with his ex Izzie (who does not appear in the episode) to raise their twins on a Kansas horse farm.

“Wasn’t he with someone?” Heigl asked after being updated on the episode’s script, adding, “ Look, ain’t that a ** hole move? ”

It comes after showrunner Krista Vernoff defended her choice on TVLine last April: “ At the end of the day, there were three choices. Kill Alex off camera; that Alex is alive and in Seattle – and still married to Jo – and we just never see him; or [reunite him] with Izzie.

A ** hole movement:

A ** hole movement: “Wasn’t he with someone?” Heigl asked after being updated on the episode’s script, adding, “ Listen, ain’t that a ** hole move? ”

And while the current season has seen fan favorites like Patrick Dempsey and TR Knight return for special appearances, Heigl doesn’t seem interested in returning.

She said of her new show Firefly Lane: ‘I’m super focused on this show and my passion for it. I would never say never but it’s not likely.

Heigl starred in the show’s first six seasons, before his priorities shifted to raising newly adopted daughter Nancy Leigh in September 2009.

She told Entertainment Weekly in 2010 that she asked to be deregistered after returning from parental leave: “ It was really the turning point for me.

‘So before I got back I spoke to [creator] Shonda [Rhimes] to want to leave. Then I waited at home until I received formal permission not to participate in the show. The rumors that I refused to return were totally untrue.

Vernoff told his side of the story to the Los Angeles Times last November: “ There was a resolution to Izzie’s story. We had planned to bring her back for an episode in order to bond Izzie and Alex well.

Unlikely: and although the current season has seen fan favorites like Patrick Dempsey and TR Knight return for special appearances, Heigl doesn't seem interested in returning: 'I'm super focused on this show and my passion for it . I would never say never but it's unlikely '

“And I wrote this episode, and it was wonderful. The day before prepping or filming, I can’t remember, we got a call saying Katie wasn’t coming. I wasn’t coming. I wasn’t going to do it.

The Knocked Up actress cleared the air in 2016, revealing that she sat down with Rhimes after her words circulated in the press.

She told Howard Stern: ‘I came in because I was really embarrassed. So I walked in [see] Shonda and said, “I’m so sorry. It wasn’t cool, and I shouldn’t have said that.”

And I shouldn’t have said anything publicly. But at the time, I didn’t think anyone would notice … I just didn’t submit, and then it became a story, and I felt compelled to make my statement, and [I should have just said], “Shut up, Katie.” ‘
