“[Shonda] I wanted to try to figure out how I could do both [parenting and Grey’s], and I kind of wanted to do both, ”Katherine explained. “There wasn’t a great way to compromise the work schedule that didn’t negatively affect the team or the cast. It wasn’t fair for them or the show to ask them to comply with my needs. “
In 2010, the character of Katherine completely disappeared from the series.
While the star’s departure from the show hasn’t been a smooth transition, she admits she is partly to blame, especially when it comes to the public’s perception of how things turned out.
“It’s the ‘ungrateful’ thing that bothers me the most. And it’s my fault,” she said. “I allowed myself to be seen that way. For me, living life is about humility and gratitude. And I tried really hard to have those qualities and to be that person, and I I’m so disappointed with myself that I let it slip away. “

As of now, Shonda Rhimes and ABC have yet to comment publicly on Katherine’s comments in Lynette’s new book.
