Katie Couric was pictured smiling from ear to ear on Friday morning during a relaxed beach getaway in East Hampton. The sighting comes amid a controversial scuttlebut surrounding her upcoming memoir, “Going There,” in which she calls several of her industry peers by name.
The former NBC correspondent was seen hitting the beach wearing a blue hoodie, green capri leggings and white sneakers. Her assistant, Adriana, joined the “Today” alum in a black and orange sweater, blue jeans and sandals.
Couric owns a $ 6.3 million oceanfront home in the city, which she bought in 2006. She now lives in the seven-bedroom property with her second husband, John Molner, whom she married in. 2014.
Her first husband, Jay Monahan, died of cancer in 1998.
It is uncertain whether the news personality will delve deep into her relationships in “Going There,” as much of her tackling her view of the ruthless nature of TV news and her broadcast colleagues such as Diane Sawyer, whom she declared her “rival” during their morning televised war.
“I loved getting under Diane’s skin,” she writes, though she freely admits that Sawyer was just as much under hers.
