Katie Price says she made the decision to place her 18-year-old son Harvey full-time.
Price, 42, said in an interview with The sun that Harvey will live in a residential college, which she hopes will teach him to live a more independent life.
“It breaks my heart,” she said The sun. “I don’t want him to think I’m just getting rid of him.”
Price raised her son, who has autism, largely as a single mother. Because of his autism, he can sometimes run wild in unpredictable ways, especially if he hears loud noises, Price said.
“You hear about autistic people being arrested and when they are detained they go crazy and get cut,” she said. The sun. “That’s why I want to find the right university for him, so if there’s a case where he starts, I’m involved.

In a recent Instagram post, Price expressed his pride in his son, saying he “overcomes mountains and obstacles that others take for granted every day.”
The TV star said she and Harvey had been looking for residential colleges for six months for children with autism and learning disabilities.
“It’s so upsetting to think that I won’t see him every day, but it’s the best thing for Harvey and we have to think positively because I don’t want him to think that I’m getting rid of him,” Price said. . “This is her chance to live an independent life, learn skills and socialize with people other than me.”
According to Price, Harvey will live there until the age of 25 and will have his own space where he can learn to live on his own.
“I hope he makes some friends so he can socialize on the weekends, but if he doesn’t have any plans then he can come home whenever he wants,” she said. The sun. “It’s supposed to start in September, but with the lockdown I’m not sure if it will.”
