Katy Perry has a reason to smile: She just made her triumphant return to the American Music Awards – and this time she did it as a mom for the first time!
The singer took to the AMAs 2020 stage on Sunday night alongside the country superstar Darius rucker to sing a reimagined version of his new song “Only Love”. She showed off her impressive voice throughout the duo, with an all-denim look.
Ahead of the awards show, Katy revealed on Instagram that she would dedicate the special performance to her father, sharing a return photo of herself as a baby with her father.
Katy welcomed her own baby, daughter Daisy, with fiance Orlando bloom in August.
“They say that when you meet your wife or your soul mate or your partner, whatever you want to say, you think they’re perfect and they are everything… and that quickly goes away, right?” Katy told E! Justin sylvester in August. “When you meet your daughter, this is where you meet the love of your life.”
