The director of photography for the original trilogy, Bill Pope, has been replaced by Oscar winner John Toll of “Legends of the Fall” and “Braveheart”, who worked with Wachowski on “Cloud Atlas” and “Jupiter Ascending “.
Warner Bros. Originally had “The Matrix 4” on the May 21, 2021 release schedule before the pandemic forced the studio to postpone the sequel to April 1, 2022. For now, “The Matrix 4” is on the schedule for December 22, when it opens in theaters and airs on HBO Max.
