Keith Lee returned to the ring on the episode of Raw after Money in the Bank, wrestling for the first time since February.
Lee made his surprise return to WWE TV by responding to WWE Champion Bobby Lashley’s Open Challenge tonight. After securing a convincing victory over Lee, Lashley was faced with Goldberg’s return after the match.
During the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in February, Lee was supposed to face Lashley and Riddle in a triple threat match for the United States Championship. But Lee was taken out of the match before it took place. In the storyline, the explanation for Lee not being in the game was the injuries he sustained when he was attacked by Lashley on Raw earlier this month.
Last month Lee tweeted about his absence from WWE TV: “I wanted to do something educational, but also inspiring to tell you about everything since the end of January. Looks like it’s not planned at the moment. So … with that, I’ll find another way to tell the guys everything. That might just be a video of me chatting with you. We’ll see. “
SmackDown wrestler Mia Yim, who is engaged to Lee, tweeted tonight: “You guys… that’s huge. Tears of joy. So happy and proud. Nothing’s holding him back. #BaskInMyGlory @RealKeithLee #WWERAW”
Tonight’s Raw took place in Lee’s home state, Texas.
