Kelly Clarkson wonders why she is “crazy in love” for her latest segment “Kellyoke” inspired by Tina Turner, Wednesday December 2nd.
She left the chorus to her trio of background singers as she cried throughout her bluesy tribute to Turner’s first single in 1960 alongside her husband Ike. The light cheeky pink and purple polka dot panels behind her complemented Clarkson’s colorful floral dress. “And listen he makes me smile when I should be ashamed / Made me laugh when my heart aches / Oh no I must be a fool / Because I’ll do whatever he wants me to do, now how is it happening? ”she cries in the first verse.
Clarkson’s cover of a Tina Turner classic arrives same week The voice Contestant and team member Kelly Desz covered Turner’s 1984 No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit, “What’s Love Got to Do With It?” during the Top 17 Live Singing Contest Series performance.
