Kelly Clarkson Plans Her Perfect First Valentine’s Day Date With Herself Since Breaking Up

She is currently embroiled in a divorce with her ex-husband and father of two children.

But Kelly Clarkson chose to focus on the positive on Friday, when she hosted an episode of her Valentine’s Day-themed talk show meant to celebrate single women.

Singer Miss Independent, 38, welcomed comedian Kym Whitley to the studio, as well as Roseanne star Sarah Chalke via video.

During the episode, the topic of the perfect date with yourself on Valentine’s Day came up and each star shared their ideas with some members of the audience.

“We all know we don’t need someone by our side to live our best life,” Clarkson said.

“ To hang out with me, I’m a mother of toddlers, so I like, literally, have a glass of wine, light the fireplace in my room, ” she also said.

Then she added, “ … and read a book or watch Netflix. Or I literally hang out with my daughters. I like this.’

Chalke, meanwhile, explained how much she loves spending time with her girlfriends, which she missed during the pandemic.

And Whitley hammered it, describing how her perfect date night with herself involved firing her young son so she could pull out her ‘toys’ and snuggle under a stream in front of the TV.

Later in the series, an audience member asked Kelly, ‘What was it that you pretended to be cool with that you weren’t cool with during a relationship? ”

“Oh…” said the American Idol champion, before hesitating and asking her guests to go first.

But she later shared, “I dated this guy, and I think because I’m a singer-songwriter, if you go out with people, they’re like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna write him a song. . “

“And … no,” Clarkson concludes revealing.

Kelly is in the middle of a divorce proceeding from her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, with whom she shares her daughter River Rose, six, and son Remington Alexander, four.

She filed for divorce from the talent manager on June 4 last year.

On a previous episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the Grammy winner admitted that co-parenting with Blackstock had been “ difficult. ”

“ It’s hard … I know with Brandon and me it’s just a hard thing because we’re in different places, and it’s like, we both agree on the main things, but it’s a tough thing when you’re not all together right now, for me personally, ”she recently told guest Khloe Kardashian.
