Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos love life like empty nests.
The acting duo recently sent their youngest son, Joaquin, to college and now live without any of their children at home. Ripa and Consuelos, both 50, share two other children in addition to their 18-year-old son: Michael, 24, and Lola, 20.
Now that school is back and Joaquin has moved out, Ripa and Consuelos are enjoying some downtime together, as they posted on Instagram on Sunday.
Ripa used the photo sharing app to post a photo of herself and her husband cuddling on the sofa. The soap star wore glasses, a crew-neck sweatshirt and no makeup, while Consuelos also kept it simple in a plain white t-shirt.

Neither star smiled for the camera, although Consuelos’ mouth was slightly ajar.

“So far we’re crushing that next empty thing,” Ripa wrote in the caption.
The cozy snap is a far cry from the content the two usually share, as Ripa in particular has become known for sharing silly, racy pictures of her husband on Instagram.
Last month, the talk show host posted a photo of herself wearing a tight black swimsuit while leaning in front of Consuelos. The actor, whose ripped physique was on display, was eyeing his wife’s bottom.

“When the end is in sight ……”, Ripa wrote in the caption.
The stars’ son Michael reacted to the photo during an appearance on “Live with Kelly and Ryan”.
“Oh man,” Michael said when co-host Ryan Seacrest brought up the scorching snap.
“What? What do you mean?” Ripa asked.
“You know what I mean,” added Michael.
“I think it’s okay,” he concluded.

Ripa’s other children have not had the same supportive reaction in the past.

Ripa and Consuelos’ daughter Lola previously called the photos of Ripa’s thirst trap on Instagram as “disgusting.” Lola opened up about things Ripa does on social media that she would never do herself in an interview published in the family issue of People magazine in August.

“It’s disgusting,” Lola replied when Ripa presented the photos of the thirst trap. “I’m blocking this from my mind. I forgot you even did it.
“I don’t even know if I’m still following you on Instagram,” she added at the time.
