Ryan Seacrest became emotional after being inundated with compliments from his “Live with Kelly and Ryan” co-star, Kelly Ripa.
The duo have worked together since taking over as chairman of co-host from Michael Strahan in 2017. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in a joint interview, Seacrest brought tears to his eyes as he explained the deep friendship they have. developed during their years of working together.

“We’re doing a TV show, but it’s not just a TV show,” he added. “We come in and we literally have our first cup of coffee together and we end up as friends, and that’s the dynamic we hope to have with people watching too.
The co-hosts aren’t kidding when they say they’ve developed a close friendship, revealing that they text each other regularly throughout the day and step out of the camera. Despite the close contact, they still find it easy to have things to say to each other once the cameras start rolling every day.

“It’s a weird co-dependency,” Ripa joked. “We are happy that our psychiatric episodes are happening in front of everyone on live television.”
“This is our therapy,” Seacrest replied.
Not to be outdone, Seacrest took the opportunity to return the adulation of Ripa.
“To work with this amazing person is an amazing thing,” he said. “I learned so much from her, not just [about] be on the air but on life. I mean, she’s an amazing coworker, the most amazing mother and wife and I can see all aspects of that. “

Despite how close they’ve become over the years, the duo had to spend more than 180 days apart when “Live with Kelly and Ryan” had to go virtual in light of the coronavirus pandemic. In September, they managed to re-enter the studio with new safety instructions.
