Like all parents, Kelly Ripa had some concerns when she sent her daughter, Lola, to college. But Ripa's fears were not to see her little girl, but rather to see her too often!
Lola is a freshman at New York University and her parents, Ripa and actor Mark Consuelos, live in New York. Tuesdays On the air with Ryan Seacrest, Ripa talked about her concerns with her Living with Kelly and Ryan co-host.
"The college is the place where you start to establish yourself as an independent person. When you send your child to the university, if this one stays in the vicinity, you expose yourself to send it to the university and to any of the sympathy or empathy of your friends, "noted Ripa. In fact, Ripa encouraged her children to go to school outside of the state.
"I was so desperate that one of my kids goes to school on the West Coast because I only want to visit the West Coast," she said. "I want Thanksgiving on the west coast!"
She went on to note that she had expressed her concerns to Lola.
"You attended more than one school and when we sat down to discuss the school in which you should go, that was my main concern," she said about Lola. "My main concern was that I do not know if you should be so close to home because I do not want you to use your house as if it was your home."
So what will be Lola's biggest fight at school? His mother has a problem in mind.
"Sharing a bathroom with five roommates will be the main challenge," she said, noting that Lola did not know any of her roommates. "I think kids in New York City are used to having little space, so she's already satisfied. It's OK with little space, but the bathroom is going to be one thing. "
