Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (right), Saturday, was mocked by "C List Celebrities" who are considering boycotting the state after the recent passing of a controversial law on abortion.

Kemp acknowledged the dissatisfaction that some feel with the new law, which prohibits abortion in this state after detection of the fetal heartbeat, which can occur as early as six weeks after the start of pregnancy. But he told the crowd at the Georgia Republican Convention that lawmakers are "elected to do what's right," according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"I understand that some people do not like this new law. I'm fine with that, "said Kemp on Saturday. "We are elected to do what is right – and defending a precious life is always the right thing to do."

He added that the Republican Party is the "party of freedom and opportunity. We value and protect innocent life – even if it creaks C-list celebrities. "

Several Hollywood celebrities have expressed their dissatisfaction with the new Georgian law, which should come into force on January 1, even though it should be challenged in court.

Actor Jason Bateman is committed to refusing to work in Georgia if the law manages to get through the court system.

Bateman currently plays in and directs shows that are filmed in the state.

Other personalities have spoken out against the legislation, many having signed a letter pledging to boycott Georgia, including Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin, Mia Farrow, Christina Applegate and Ben Stiller.

Kemp also used his time on Saturday to take pictures of "agenda-driven media" and "talking heads and trolls of Twitter".
