Ken Jennings blasted for his tweet that he chose not to delete

– Following the death of Alex Trebek, Peril! Monday revealed that Ken Jennings will be the departing guest host, with filming starting November 30. Page six reports that some of the reactions to the news were in the vein of Community star Yvette Nicole Brown’s, who tweeted, “Nope.” When someone asked her about it, she replied, “Peep his old tweets and get back to me.” Or, really, a tweet: one from 2014 that said “Nothing sadder than a sexy person in a wheelchair”. It received a new notice in 2018, prompting Jennings to Tweeter this at the time: “I never did a flogging in public for this, but I apologized personally to the angry / hurt people who contacted personally. It was such an inane joke it meant something very different in my head and I regret the simple read ableist! ”But the tweet stayed live.

It finally fell on Wednesday, but that hasn’t stopped people from following tweets like this, from @GraysonGoal: “#HotPersonInAWheelchair has been trending a number of times. Many of us have reached out to call her without saying anything.” IndieWire points out that this is not the only tweet for which Jennings has been criticized. He cites a few others, including one on one Star wars fan who managed to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens just five days before his death. Jennings tweeted: “It can’t be a good sign that all the fans who saw the new Star Wars movie died soon after.” (Elon Musk had a Twitter argument with Jennings earlier this year.)
