Kendrick Norton's medical bills to be covered by NFL after arm amputation | Bleacher's report

The National Football League has informed defensive tackle Miami Dolphins, Kendrick Norton, that it would cover expenses related to the amputation of his left arm following a car accident last week.

Malki Kawa, Norton's agent, provided the update Tuesday to Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.

Omar Kelly of South Florida Sun Sentinel Norton said Thursday that he was involved in a car accident involving two people on Thursday, which caused him to hit a concrete barrier and roll over on his roof. Paramedics were forced to amputate the arm in order to safely get him out of the vehicle. He also suffered other injuries that did not put his life in danger.

The 22-year-old native of Jacksonville, Fla., Released Monday morning a message about his Instagram story, accompanied by a photo of him thumbs up.

"I'm fine, thanks to all the people who have watched me !!!" he wrote. "I'm fine, thank you for praying to God be glory."

The product of the University of Miami was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round of the NFL's 2018 project. The dolphins detached him from the Panthers' training team in December.

Norton did not participate in any match of the regular season.
