Senator John Kennedy apologized Thursday for calling President Joe Biden’s Home Office candidate Deb Haaland a “shitty job.”

The Louisiana Republican said he regretted the remark about Haaland, explaining that he was looking for another word before calling it “neo-socialist work on the left of Lenin”.

“I’m sorry. I was looking for a word for extremist, which I think is more neutral,” Kennedy said. “And I should have said extremist. I never should have said work.”
