The 21c Museum Hotel in Lexington, Ky. On Wednesday unveiled its retro 1960s-inspired Queen’s Gambit room – which holds reservations for fans and chess enthusiasts alike.

The Harmon Room has a chessboard art installation above the bed mimicking the drug-induced visions that orphan-turned-chess prodigy Beth Harmon (Isla Johnston) has on the hit Netflix show.

Lexington just happens to be Beth’s hometown and the room includes a guide to area landmarks featured in the seven-part series based on the 1983 novel by Lexington native Walter Tevis.

Mid-century modern furnishings and accessories for the boutique hotel room were selected by interior designer Isabel Ladd, curator Lucy Jones and Alex K Mason of Ferrick Mason Inc.

“I’ve been collecting furniture from this era for three decades,” Jones said.

“It is pure joy to bring the rich scenes on the page and the screen to life.”

Ladd added: “ When I was watching The Queen’s Gambit I would stop and come back just mesmerized by all the colors and patterns. ”

The time capsule echoed the many luxury hotels that Beth (Anya Taylor-Joy) and her enterprising adoptive mother Alma Wheatley (Marielle Heller) have stayed at for chess tournaments.

For a limited time, guests can play the locally made chess set and admire the personalized chess-themed wallpaper dubbed The Knight’s Gambit in the ‘Immersive Experience’.
