LEXINGTON, Kentucky – Kentucky quarterback Terry Wilson will undergo an MRI on his left knee after his Saturday night win against the 38-17 win over East Michigan, with an ankle injury.
Wildcats coach Mark Stoops did not have details about the severity of Wilson's injury. But after the match, he said: "Anyone who is on a cart like that and puts his knee in this case does not look good, right?"
Wilson ran for a 2 yard touchdown later with 5:01 to go in the third quarter before being injured.
Eagles defensive lineman Turan Rush battled the junior in a 19-yard run at EMU 44 at the end of the third quarter and received a personal penalty for the hard tackle. Kentucky was called for illegal training on the same game as the penalties cleared.
Wilson was briefly on his lap before lying on the grass to be observed by the medical staff of the team. His left leg was placed in a corset and he was carried on a cart that took him for observation.
Spectators chanted Wilson's name and several teammates came to shake his hand before he was acclaimed. Sawyer Smith came in and scored two to mark Kentucky's victory.
Wilson rushed eight times for 43 yards and 14 of 26 passes for 114 yards in the win.
