ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. – A Kentucky woman who lost her two terriers Jack Russell five years ago was reunited with one of them.
The Lexington Herald-Leader announced that Janece Parsons had received a call Tuesday, claiming that her Army dog had been found safe and identified with the help of a microchip. Parsons and his family picked up the 16-year-old deaf dog at the Hardin County Animal Shelter in Elizabethtown, opening the shelter the following day.
Parsons says she was visiting Hardin County in 2014 when the dogs were gone, probably scared by a nearby firing range. She added that the army and the missing person, Leia, have not been found despite door-to-door searches and posters placed in the city.
She says Army and her dog Roxie are getting to know each other.
