2 Emerging Nigerian Startups and 1 Emerging Kenyan Visa Everywhere Initiative Winner

The Everywhere initiative of Visa concluded yesterday in Johannesburg, South Africa. Nigerian startups CredPal and Growsel and Kenya Mookh Africa resisted competition from the other nine competitors to come out victorious

The Sub-Saharan edition of the Visa Everywhere initiative has challenged start-ups local fintech to propose solutions based on three real challenges. :

CredPal won the "Merchant Payments" Challenge and $ 25,000 for its solution allowing individuals and businesses to pay for phased purchases between online and offline merchants by giving them instant access to credit at checkout .

Growsel, the other Nigerian-winning start-up, won the "Financial Inclusion" challenge, developing a solution that connects underfunded small-scale farmers with investors via the Peer-to-mobile phone. Peer (P2P) and sales in the market. which gives them access to the best agricultural practices.

This edition of Visa Everywhere Initiative is the first time that startups have been entrusted with a specific challenge to financial inclusion since its launch in 2015. Growsel received $ 25,000 for winning this category.

The Kenyan startup, Mookh Africa won both the "Social Business Payments" challenge and the overall prize for his idea, winning $ 50,000 and the opportunity to work with Visa to further develop the concept.
