Several people were injured in a traffic accident at Nyakeiyo in South Mugirango, Kisii County.
The wounded were transported to various hospitals, including at the Tabaka Mission Hospital, Nduru, and Kisii Teaching and Reference Hospital (KTRH).

According to Dr. Enock Ondari, General Manager of KTRH, seven people were admitted to the facility for injuries to the head and spine.
County police coordinator, Mohammed Abdi, says the vehicle lost control and rolled over several times.
"The driver has disappeared but we will stop and be able to determine if the vehicle was able to roll."

The accident involved a canter (truck) carrying burglars to a nearby morgue for a funeral procession.
It is suspected that the vehicles were carrying more than 40 people at the time of the accident.
Kisii County ambulances are currently transporting survivors to KTRH.
