Governors yesterday demanded immunity from prosecution after the arrest and indictment of their counterpart Busia Sospeter Ojaamong.

They protested against the arrest of Ojaamong, despite the fact that the governor presents himself voluntarily to the Commission of Ethics and Fighting Corruption

"While the fight against corruption is inevitable, this struggle can not be politicized and can not be used selectively to target specific officers," he told reporters.

The CdG stated that it was aware that security agencies will target more governors in the coming weeks. The governors said that if the arrests continue, they would disrupt activities in the counties.
