Some residents maintained that they would remain despite the order to leave illegally built homes near the railway line.
Demonstrations are expected on the Ngong Road near Uchumi, Mbagathi Road and the South Bypbad bordering Kibera.
Those planning to use these roads were advised to exercise caution and to find other routes if possible to avoid being caught in the fray. The first phase of the demolition began on June 21 at 3 am, Kibera residents claiming that they were not informed.
