A drinking competition between a group of partygoers at a local bar in Malava sub-county, Kakamega County, was tragic after the death of a participant of apparent alcoholic intoxication.
Mufutu Nyongesa, 25, died after drinking excessive amounts of alcohol on an empty stomach.

According to witnesses, Nyongesa swallowed two bottles of concentrated alcohol before beginning to have stomach problems.
Nyongesa's wife, Anne Naliaka, said that he had left home to check his motorcycle in a repair shop. do not come back as he promised.
