The High Court set aside the decision of the Salaries and Compensation Board to cap the number of monthly meetings paid by the Judicial Service Commission.
Enoch Judge Chacha Mwita ruled that the ruling was illegal since the CBC's mandate is limited solely to fixing the salaries of state agents.
The judge therefore ordered SRC to no longer interfere with the judicial independence of the JSC
. The CBC's decision to rescind the CBC's decision of December 19, 2015 is set aside, Justice Mwita said.
