Dennis Omondi, a Kenyan journalist who previously worked at West Media is dead.
The deceased had sought help earlier this year after being diagnosed with acute leukemia and having a bone graft.
He raised funds and went to India for treatment, hoping that sympathizers and friends would help him raise the remaining balance of $ 6.5 million
After paying for the first phase of treatment , Omondi was abandoned at Apollo Hospital and could not access treatment since he had no money.
He returned to Kenya and continued his treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) where he died Friday
His former colleagues sent messages of condolence to his family and saluted his bravery throughout his fight against leukemia.
Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi also took to Twitter to celebrate Omondi by stating, "Dennis Omondi Musindi, we did everything we could, we raised money as a social media family.
"You are a fighter! Go well, I pray that God will strengthen your family. You taught us one thing, we can fight, we can raise any amount of money, we are a big family. Bad news. #RIPDENNIS
