Since April 2014, the city of Flint is undergoing an ongoing water crisis. It's been four years, and Michigan citizens still rely on donations of water from various sources (which are slowly decreasing). The cause of the crisis – lead pipes and a corrosive water supply – is expected to remain until 2020. Parts of the city are still exposed to contaminated water, and according to Washington Post many of these residents absolutely do not trust the tap.
However, progress can be made on the horizon. Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has expressed interest in helping people affected by Flint's unhealthy water supply. After a futile attempt to help Thai children trapped in a cave, Musk has received a lot of criticism on social media.
Some of his critics spoke of his lack of support regarding Flint's water crisis, and many people have started referencing the topic in his Twitter mentions. Mari Copeny, a native of Flint, responded to one of his tweets on June 27 saying, "Flint water and bikes for #FlintKids please." [19659002] Elon replied a week later. Skeptics doubted the integrity of this claim, but recent events have shown that Flint is indeed in the mind of Musk.
Ok, I'm going to take a look

this interaction, Elon replied to another tweet about Flint. According to his response on Twitter, he said: "Please, consider this as a commitment that I will fund to repair the water in any house in Flint that has a contamination of the water." Water level above the FDA levels .. No kidding. "
The tweet is still posted, and several other comments have followed. Musk came back to clarify his claims, telling Jonathan Diener, a native of Flint, that he would "send someone to install a water filter" to "every person who responded with test results in ppm and ppb ".
Please consider this as an undertaking I will fund water fixation in any home in Flint that has water contamination above the FDA levels. No kidding.

The CEO also promised that he was in the process of creating an email for the project, and plans to organize a weekend in Flint . The city is far from having clean water, but many people hope that it will become a turning point in the water crisis. It does not matter that it is an RP coup, this act of goodwill does not go unnoticed. The response has collected over 67,000 likes in the past 12 hours, and that number is growing.
We are all waiting to see how that goes, and even if tweeting about something is not the same thing, Elon Musk's efforts may prove useful this time around.
