Google technology giants are holding their second #GoogleForNigeria event.

#GoogleForNigeria 2018 featured Google's latest offerings for the Africa region. From android go apps to lighten data go go apps, services, free Wifi spots across Nigeria and Go devices for the Africa region.

To launch the event, Google's director in Nigeria, Juliet Ehimuan-Chiazor, talked about the decade of googles on the continent. She mentioned Google's desire to " build more products and programs that work for Africans and their various jostling". Google announces low-cost Android Go devices and a new light version of Android Oreo, "Android Oreo Go". This google version says " is an Android configuration optimized for smartphones with 1 GB RAM or less ". It will be pre-installed with Google apps to take up 50% less space.

Some device partners for $ 50 smart phones are "Transsion, Nokia, Huawei and Mobicel". These devices will be available in 30 African countries.

Google Nigeria in partnership with 21st Century Technologies introduce Google Stations.This will be free Wi-Fi hotspots destinations across Nigeria.The plan is to have 200 hotspot across the country by 2019. Currently, there are 6 destinations in Lagos where this is already live: Historical Event Center, The Palms Shopping Center, University of Lagos, Murtala Mohammed Airport, Domestic Terminal, Ikeja Ci Shopping Center Ty and Computer Village.

Google will also increase the street view to 7 other cities in Lagos by expanding their discovery of the Nigeria Gallery.
