Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has canceled the licenses of all Chandarana supermarkets following allegations of racial prejudice.
The marketing director had already written an email that was perceived to be racist. Rima Patel wrote an e-mail saying that they were trying to attract whites to their supermarkets, hence the reason they wanted to hold a draw.
The e-mail caused an uproar online.

Last month, employees in supermarkets said that they had been reduced to being attendants regardless of their qualifications. 19659003] Employees say that Africans have been stereotyped as thieves and have no managerial responsibilities despite their qualifications.
The Chandarana Food plus workers say that foreigners who are brought into the supermarket are unskilled but lack decorum towards African workers and customers.
