Infinix India sent a video of the launch of a smartphone on July 11th. The teaser, which lasts 22 seconds and highlights "tired eyes", shows that the next Infinix model will be "made to watch videos," suggesting a large-screen camera with optimizations to make viewing the video easier for eyes. Owned by Transsion Holdings, Infinix is a Hong Kong-based brand that has already launched budget smartphones such as Hot S3 and Note 4 in the Indian market, among others.
Earlier this week, the IANS news agency had reported, that Infinix will launch a smartphone under Rs. 10,000 in India in mid-July. This smartphone would have a 6-inch screen and an 18: 9 format, and will be an exclusive Flipkart.
However, with many companies adopting the 18: 9 format and larger screens, it will take more than the hardware to bring out the device as a smartphone made to watch videos.
The last major launch of Infinix in India was the Hot S3 in February, priced from Rs. 8,999. The dual SIM (Nano) smartphone runs the custom OS XO 3.0 user interface based on Android Oreo. The phone sports a 5.65-inch HD + Full HDD screen (720 x 1440 pixels) with a screen-to-body ratio of 81%. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core SoC, coupled with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB / 4GB RAM
Infinix Hot S3 features a 13 megapixel rear sensor with dual LED flash, and a 20 megapixel selfie camera with dual LED flash. Hot S3 packs in 32GB / 64GB of built-in storage, expandable via a microSD card (up to 128GB). There is a 4000mAh battery with xCharge under the hood.
