With the blazing popularity of Instagram in the Western world, the company is now seeking to woo new users in developing countries. And to do this, he follows the example of Facebook and has now quietly launched the Instagram Lite app for Android.

Instagram has not officially announced the Lite app for Android, but it's now available on Google Play Store. Instagram Lite is only 573 KB in size compared to the package of about 32 MB of the main Instagram application.

The lite version is essentially designed for places where people have connectivity, storage, or high data loads. Even the description of the application for the new Lite app describes it as such: "The Instagram Lite app is small, allowing you to save space on your phone and download it quickly . "

The Instagram app allows you to do most things can do with the full Instagram application, such as filters, edits, downloads, stories, and of course the Explorer section. It is however not possible to post videos or send direct messages, but the company could add this in the next updates.

Instagram Lite is currently being tested only in Mexico and is not yet widely launched. The spokesman for Instagram confirmed the tests and said:

we are testing a new version of Instagram for Android that takes up less space on your device, uses less data and starts up more quickly

Lite apps are designed to take up less space on your device, but consume less data, making it easier for users who can not afford data plans valuable. Many popular technology giants like Google Maps and Facebook have used Lite apps to target users in developing countries. Fortunately, the Instagram Lite app would increase the use of Instagram in Zimbabwe where it is avoided due to consuming too much data.
