The aircraft is 40% quieter than other types of aircraft and has improved aerodynamics, with split scimitar winglets increasing its fuel efficiency up to 15%.
The plane has been a favorite with Jet Airways since the airline began operations in 1994 with the 737-300s. Jet Airways CEO Vinay Dube said, "The 737 MAX is critical to our strategy, which will also enable us to meet our strategic growth ambitions, improve operational reliability and reduce costs."
Seats with USB Ports
From the point of view of the aircraft, the aircraft comes with two clbad configuration of Premiere and Economy seats. The airline has opted for the Rockwell Collins MiQ Business Clbad seats, which also cater to American Airlines, Cathay Pacific and others. Jet has opted for a shade of Aqua Blue, and the seats are lined with Wollsdorf leather, which provides leather covers to the luxury car market.
The storage bins on the ceiling have been redesigned to make the cabins further apart. The seats come with USB ports, electronics racks and coat hooks. Jet Airways has also opted for Space Bins, which will provide more space for storing carry-on luggage. Each Space Bin can hold six standard-size bags, two more than the large Boeing Sky Interior swivel safes currently installed on many of the next-generation 737s.
SpiceJet is the other Indian airline waiting for 737 Max aircraft. SpiceJet had announced its intention to acquire up to 205 new aircraft (including 55 of its 2014 order) from Boeing at the beginning of last year. Deliveries should begin in August
