Kiraitu Youth Service Project Receives Sh100m Funding

Meru MCA spent a budget of 10.26 billion shillings.

The Chairman of the Budget and Credit Committee, Julius Mbijiwe, said yesterday that he has allocated 90 million shillings for the construction of ECDE clbadrooms and 420 million shillings for roads. Meru Youth Service – the flagship project of Governor Kiraitu Murungi – received 100 million shillings.

Akithi MCA Victor Karithi said the budget fits well with Murungi's manifesto. "This touches on the life of the ordinary mwananchi.We have a significant allocation to water and irrigation – drilling boreholes and empowering avocado and macadamia farmers."

Karithi said that the executive should implement all the development projects included in the budget

Karithi said that the budget controller should approve the funds early so that the residents can enjoy quality services.The MCA deducted 91 million shillings from the governor's office, 176 million shillings from the finances and 10 millions of shillings from the civil service and environmental departments, and they have also shelved a call for dairy bids of Sh 101.4 million
