The body of a Lamu Polytechnic student who disappeared at sea during a swimming expedition with friends three days ago was found.
Juma Mohamed, 23, swam with about 30 clbadmates at Shella Beach in Lamu City.
His body was found by a local diver, Khalifa Abdulkadir, on the shores of the Peponi Hotel in Shella around 5:15 am on Sunday after being beached.

He was buried at Langoni Cemetery in Lamu City shortly thereafter according to Islamic tradition
"I stood up early since we continued the search since friday, gone missing.I spotted the body right in front of the hotel Peponi.He floated in the shallow waters just in the footsteps.I called the ship from rescue and we took the body to the hospital morgue.We have already buried it, "said Khalifa.

Lamu OCPD Juma Londo also confirmed that the body of the student had been found.
"The plan was to proceed with the search because you never know who died until you find them.We have officially canceled the search now that we already have a body," said Londo.
The deceased who comes from the Witu division at Lamu West was taking an electrical engineering course at the Lamu Polytechnic School and was in his first year. 19659005] His friends said that the deceased did not know how to swim but that he was curious to try it when he was fatally drowned.
This comes just a month after two fishermen drowned in the area of Manda Maweni 2.
