Mitsui Sumitomo partners with ICEA LION and ICE to boost the African network

Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company Europe (MSIEU) has signed strategic alliance agreements with ICEA LION General Insurance Company in Kenya, and International Commercial & Engineering Seguros (ICE) in Mozambique to strengthen its network in Africa.

MSIEU is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese insurance giant Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (MSI).

Under the terms of these agreements, MSIEU will provide MSI services to Japanese companies in East and Southeast Africa, as well as to Japanese, Asian and Chinese companies.

According to the agreement, ICEA LION and ICE will act as insurance carriers in the region, with a designated team serving Japanese customers of the company. The team will be responsible for issuing local policies, accident response and the provision of risk management services.

Designated office space will be reserved for MSIEU in each of the offices of the company.

In addition, MSIEU will support the risks underwritten by providing reinsurance capacity, underwriting expertise and badistance in communication with clients.
