A restaurant based in Nyeri has become one of the first commercial establishments in the country to accept payments via the world famous cryptocurrency, Bitcoin.
The Betty Place restaurant, located in the heart of the former headquarters of Central Province, announced accepting payments via Bitcoin.
The restaurant has adopted the payment method despite the previous warning from the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK). At a previous scrum, CBK Governor Patrick Njoroge had warned that investing in virtual currency could result in mbadive losses of money.
