The battle for supremacy between former MPs and former MPs seems to be gaining momentum in central Kenya as a result of a meeting between a group of former legislators and the leader. from the opposition, Raila Odinga, last week.

But Mathira's deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, one of the center's leaders, accused Raila of wanting to split the voting block in central Kenya before 2022.
Gachagua claimed that Raila wanted to destroy the Jubilee Party before the 2022 elections and was using some of the leaders rejected in last year's elections.
"He is now trying to create mischief in Jubilee because we have elected leaders in Mt Kenya who should speak on behalf of the people," said the MP for Mathira.
Muriithi Kang 'Ara, chairman of the Kirinyaga Jubilee Party, also spoke out against the Raila meeting, saying it was a broader plan for try to block the 2022 presidential candidacy of Vice President William Ruto.
Kang 's alleged politicians from the region who met with the opposition leader recently are bitter with the party after losing in last year' s elections.
He also mocked the leaders for criticizing politicians in the region supporting the DP through the now famous Tangatanga slogan.
