Did you see the Kenyan flag being stolen high during the Russia vs. Spain Sunday match? Well, many were curious to know why the flag of our country was waved at the Moscow stadium, Russia, but we all know our national football team, the stars of Harambee have not put the feet in the World Cup.

The Kenyan flag was brandished by four Kenyans from Marsabit. One of them named Ogom Asugo was the one who was flying the flag. Amongst others, he is in Russia to attend the FIFA Foundation Festival.

The four include; Kabale Halake, Ogom Asogo, Samson Dido and Hanadi Abdinbadir who are respectively 17, 18, 18 and 16 years old. They have been selected to participate in the festival with the kind permission of a non-governmental organization called Horn of Africa Development Initiative (HODI).

HODI was founded by Fatuma Abdulkadir Adan in 2003. It is based in Marsabit and encourages football to bring peace and cohesion to members of the Gabra and Oromo tribes.

48 non-governmental organizations from 38 countries will participate In the FIFA Foundation Festival, HODI was represented by the four teenagers.

They will participate in sports with other groups such as Street Soccer USA, Sort Against Racism Ireland, Single Leg Amputee Sports Association and Downside Up. Russian charity.
