The owner of the Solai Dam, five others to spend the weekend in prison

The Solai Patel Dam authorities were returned to Naivasha Prison pending a decision on their bail and bond application on July 9.

The owner Perry Mansukh is one of the suspects arrested on Thursday. 1965-19005] Mansukh was charged with manslaughter alongside Vinoj Kumar and Johnson Njuguna at the Naivasha Courthouse on Thursday.

Kumar is the General Manager of Patel Coffee Estates Limited while Njuguna is the Director of Nakuru County Water

The other three suspects who are appearing today also pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges.

They understand; Winnie Muthoni (Water Rights Specialist – Nakuru), Tomkin Odhiambo (Regional Director WRA-Nkr) and Jacinta Were (Assistant Technical Technician WRA-Nakuru

Three more are yet to appear in court. 48 people in the night of May 9 when the dam broke out, causing the flow of water and mud through residential areas
